To prove that you are ready to embark on your top-secret mission, you will need to demonstrate your knowledge in the following ways:
PART ONE - history of Navajo code, how it works, & what happened after the war
Click on this link. As you research the website links listed under the "Task" tab above, answer the 3 questions in PBSLearningMedia. Please be very THOROUGH and answer all parts of the questions.
PART TWO - create your own code
After Commander Moffett has determined you are ready, you may begin to create your own code for use in the U.S. military. Use pencil and paper for this step. Your code must include the following:
I: An Explanation of the Code
II: A Message
III: A Decoder
PART THREE - create a Weebly webpage
Let your creative juices flow! Go to www.weebly.com and sign in with Google (the red button). Create a webpage about the Navajo Code Talkers and show us what you've learned! When you are finished, publish it using a subdomain of Weebly (the 1st option), copy this web address, and email it to Mrs. Moffett. We will publish these webpages on a Symbaloo page for all to see!

- How does it work?
- How do you know the Axis powers will not decode it?
II: A Message
- Create a sample "mystery message" consisting of at least one sentence telling something you've learned about Navajo Code Talkers.
III: A Decoder
- Create a key for Commander Moffett.
